Found older Jeep

Anyone have a clue as to model/year? I think it might be a CJ-3A(maybe '49--52)?

CJ3A or DJ3A. The windshield frame is shared with these and the M38 but that is not a military model.

If you look behind that licence plate there should be an opening vent.

The top is interesting along with that mirror. I am thinking maybe a DJ3A but not postal. If so it is probably 2WD with an L head, make a great runabout in town.

CJ3A was replaced in 1953 withe high hood CJ3B to take an F head engine. However the DJ3A continued until 1965, before being replaced by the DJ5.

Is it for sale?

My friend tried to get more pics--the owners accosted him and were adamant about photographing it - even though he was on a public road. tells me they are not interested in selling--too bad-looks like a jeep that could be restored easily--it's in Butte, Montana(no address) based on this, it will prob rot. Sad.

My guess is it's CJ-3A. Folks out in the country really woudn't have much use for a 2WD Jeep. Useless for going hunting, etc.
