Embedding pictures into your posts.

OK, so some of the great picture sharing sites have stopped sharing to 3rd party locations unless you have the $$$ to pay monthly access.

Later on these picture sometimes go away and the images are lost but can sometimes be found with a lot of work.

You know you can upload pictures to the forum but they usually are attached to the end of your post.
That's OK is all you want to show one picture or several of your rig.

But if you are trying to show how something is done it's best to embed you picture right into your post with an exclamation before or after each picture.

Thanks to trailhead2004, he showed me a way to do just that.

First upload your pictures to the forum with the upload images button.
Name: Upload button.JPG
Views: 31
Size: 14.8 KB

Choose your images by clicking on button to choose
Name: UploadPictures.JPG
Views: 33
Size: 46.0 KB

Unfortunately there are limits to picture s sizes on this forum.
Name: Limits.JPG
Views: 39
Size: 46.5 KB

Don't forget to hit upload when you are done selecting your images. You can scroll down to be sure you images have been uploaded.
Name: Uploaded.JPG
Views: 34
Size: 31.5 KB

Type out you text and put the cursor where you want to embed the picture.
Click on the paper clip and select by clicking on the image you want to put in that location.

Then save your post. and your pictures will appear right were you want them.

Looks like there might be a limit of just 5 embedded pictures per post.

If there is a picture you need. Download it to your hard drive so you have it in the future.
If you need to save the whole post, try printing it to a PDF file. You will have to do each page independently.

Well done John!

One thing to mention is when you use the advance posting option you can preview what your post will look like. Sometimes when we use a cell phone picture it can appear upside down or sideways. If that happens use a photo editor to open the photo. Even if the photo displays properly in the editor save it and it will display properly in the post.

Great tip.

Is why all the Photo Bucket photos that are in the Stickey Post came out blurry and hard to see? I'm new to this site after being gone for awhile and I'm interested in the older posts that are hard to see. Will these be unable to be covered?

Yes, that's a Photobug thing trying to extort more money from their users.

You could try using wayback.com and get the post from years before Photobug began giving everyone a inclined plane type consisting of a spirally grooved solid cylinder.

That's why I posted this so you can upload pictures to the jeepforum site that will remain until the run out of room.

If there is something you want to save for later I would print the page as a PDF and save it on your computer.
