Now that's quite a deer!

Here's what the semi finished parts look like. They still need to have the holes chamfered and I need to make the backer plates. I'll plan on working on them again Monday.

Strikers look great Jim! I will definitely order a set when you start selling them!

Ok Jeep Team,
I am in the same predicament with my '81 CJ5!
PO bought a set of doors that use the pin latch, and match the body style, but really not enough body to mount the pin. More than that, on the CJ5, when you scoot up out of the seat to get out, that pin would be tearing something else out....and I do not mean a belt loop or pocket
Here are a couple pics of my situation, and trying to find some close up pics of the correct doors, and latch should be used for my rig.
Almost looks like it had just a rod that dropped down into a hole in the body, as there are no markings where a latch plate was ever mounted.
Anyone have pics they could share?

The doors on your cj5 should latch to the hard top, not to the tub. That hole you are asking about is for the front rod to mount the soft top. Linked below is a very informitive thread about hard tops for the cj-5. Most info is for the acme brand top, but there is bits of info on other tops.

If you are making more and it's possible please put me in the list for 2 pair. If I remember right, I have a pair of original (somewhere is the shop) and yours looks to have a smoother transition from the tub onto the striker plate. Latecomer to this tread. Thanks.

I'll have some ready to ship Tuesday. If anyone wants a set send me a pm and I'll let you know the price. Or you can email me at [email protected]
I'm not posting the price details on the forum since I am not a vendor. I don't want to cause any problems for our moderator, John.
Thanks
