This doesnt look right?

So I just put a 4" lift on my 78 cj7 and these shackles don't look right. http://

Also the bolt that connects the back of the front leaf, why size are they? 1/2 inch fits too loose in the sleeve that came with the lift and 5/8 doesn't fit? [IMG][/IMG]

???

There's no shackle pictured.

BTW... I like the springs mounted with the bolt head facing out and the nut on the inboard side.

Vibration? Bump steer? Wandering? Read the article (sticky) on Steering, suspension, and driveline.

Your in full droop, put the wheels on it and set it on the ground the shackle where it attaches to the spring should be forward of the center line of the top shackle bolt. the springs will settle after a month or so.

I had the same issues with my BDS 4" lift. I had to put all 4's on the ground and flex the heck out of it with no shocks and no sway bar. I put a jack with a bock of wood on each corner and one at a time flexed it until the tire on the opposite side came off the ground. Pictures and thread here:

The bolts for the main (rear) spring eyes are 9/16". They can be hard to find.

Them are some purty jack stands. Yes, your shackle is pulled back because your axle is pulling your spring down.
