Daytona vs Canary Yellow?

I don't have an example of Canary Yellow but I can't hardly tell the difference holding a picture from Google next to it.

I wanted Canary Yellow but reconsidering because I can find Daytona Yellow at the APS for touch ups. My accent colors will be gloss black textured gun metal grey (still haven't found the grey)
What do you guys think? Should I stay with the with the Daytona?
Thanks Shawn

Iím kinda partial to Daytona Yellow, but a brighter yellow would probably look better on a CJ.

I would go brighter or deeper yellow. That one looks like it is sun faded even though it isn’t.

I know there was a stock Yellow I believe called sunflower yellow but it's to pastel looking for me and looks chalky. Yes I want LOUD yellow.
So you think Canary Yellow is brighter than Daytona?
Thanks Shawn

Well original for 1977 would be 6V Sunshine Yellow
Outside of staying original to your color code trim tag stamping or at least original to that year, the sky is the limit.

Sunshine Yellow and Daytona Yellow are quite similar to my eye. There is current Jeep colour Solar Yellow - might be more what you are looking for.

When ever I hear the word 'Jeep' I reach for my wallet.

HI you can't really tell by a picture it is limited to the quality of the colors in the photo.. compared to the real thing..

That's the dilemma haha I haven't seen any example colors in person next to one another but that's what I will probably have to do. Just go to a paint store and look at samples.
Was talking to a friend of mine and he suggested burnt yellow. Nope on that one either. I don't want any red what so ever in it. I can't think of anything in nature that would compare to use to describe either lol.
Thanks Shawn

No I've seen the yellows back then but I'm not looking for stock either. If I recall it's kind of a faded yellow. I'm looking for a bold contrast to the black and gunmetal grey. As bright as possible without being florescent lol (I guess I'm shooting for the sky lol)
Thanks Shawn

Eastwood isn't the cheapest paint, but I can attest to its quality.

Matt that's the closest to what I've been looking for and it's about the same price, maybe even a little cheaper than the Canary Yellow I was looking at getting. I'm thinking of going to a paint store and looking at their samples and will look to see who carries Eastwood.
Thanks Shawn
PS now to find my textured Gunmetal Grey lol

I agree, like onlyinacj said, that one looks like it is sun faded even though it isnít. I've always liked corvette yellow on a Jeep, if I was to go with yellow.
Careful comparing colors on a website and a computer or phone screen. Too many variables that can change color hues.

I always thought Corvette Yellow was Canary Yellow.
That's why I'm eliminating the internet and pictures and going to the paint store.

My '83 came off the lot as Sunshine Yellow, which I now believe was a custom ordered color that was never purchased. '77 is the last year Sunshine Yellow was a standard. Dad painted it Canary Yellow, which it still is today. Much brighter for sure. It will go back to Sunshine one day.
