Couple of CJ questions

Okay, why do people look at me funny when I tell them my
CJ7 has a three speed manual transmission? Is this not usual
for a 77 model? Also does anyone know if the gauges that quadratec
sells are the correct gauges for my jeep. They look the same. Thanks

3spd was the standard in '77.

Gauges from Quadratec should match '76+ very closely.

it's sad that there are people who don't know that 3 speed stadard tranny's exist.

when they look at you funny, tell them that your thinking of switching it to "three on the tree', or possibly a 2-speed automatic. that oughta keep them guessing.

Tell em reverse is up and to the left and you don't ahve to push down or pull up to get it into gear.

They will really look at you funny. They will correct you and say, no that is 1st gear or perhaps they will tell you that you need to push down and then go up and to the left...

It is funny to see them think that they know so much...

Heck, Just tell them you don't have push in the clutch to start the motor. Heck you don't even have to push on the brake first either.

Buckling up is with a lap belt..

And it's a Cigar/cigarette lighter not an auxillary power plug.

Those of us with 3 speeds can run 33 inch tire and use high gear without regearing the diffs.

John- Do you have a write-up or procedure I can use to be certain that it is a Cigar/cigarette lighter and not an aux. power plug? How would one know the difference?

Know what I like about my 3 speed? It's EASY to rock it when you're stuck. Reverse to 1st is just up and down!

Know what I like about my 3 speed? If you're stuck and want to rock it back and forth. It's just up and down with the shifter!

Don't forget to mention a granny gear. I was once asked (paraphasing)"...what is that? Was it on the real old cars and old people remember it?"

Marching or fighting, it all pays the same.
