CJ7 Passenger seat - conversion to Slider???

Does anyone know what what year YJ seat base and slider mechanism I can use to allow the passenger side seat to slide forward or back but not raise the height when compared to the OEM drivers seat?

91 to 95 I believe. View it from the side and it will be noticeable shorter and have a different shape on the side bracket.

Good stuff. Nice links and research.

If you cannot fix it with a hammer then it has to be an electrical problem.

I was reviewing the YZ seat brackets (in the link) a while back and saw a review claiming it sits higher than stock. It would be nice to now whether or not it is going to lower or raise my CJ7 passenger seat before ordering.

They didn't raise my seats at all. Its based on the YJ versions seats from 1987-95 which put sliders on both side and not just the drivers side like the CJ had.

I saw a review that stated, "Very stiff and sits higher than stock" That person must be referring to an aftermarket seat, which usually do sit higher than stock. And of course the bracket is going to be stiff!

How’s is the quality of the bestop seat brackets? The worn out original brackets bother the wife a bit, but was unsure of the quality of replacements.

Thanks.

So far so good. They are built just like the OEM versions so any looseness over time may occur from wear and tear. They are the same material thickness as OEM.

That’s good to know, and may be the case. I removed both of my OEM seats to swap from side to side, and one of four seat mount bolts are jacked up. One snapped and the other has nothing left to attach to, corroded away. So I currently have the passenger side seat mounted to the drivers side so I can drive it. I need to order some replacement seats. Thinking about rough country but undecided at the time. Either way I want them to sit level in
The end.

I'd agree the quality of the bracket that Bestop is putting out is on par with OME. I have one that is several years old...holding up just like new.
