CJ Electric Conversion thread?

I looked under 'electric conversion' but didn't find anything.

We must have a thread for that - right?

Thanks - Patrick

I haven't seen one for a CJ yet.

Found these though. Seems to be the most interesting. Not sure his comment about water leaking into the High Voltage battery compartment...

I seem to remember a poster from Canada who was putting an electric motor in a CJ. He may have moved the thread to a technical forum

Thread was moved to Jeep Builds. The OP of the thread hasn't been here in nearly a year.

There is a thread over on the CJ8 Forum, where the 258 is being replaced with electric.

I'm amazed that I remembered this and more so that I got most of the details right. Most days I can't remember if I ate breakfast much less what I ate.

Funny, I was pointing the finger at new "Jeep" owners.
I used to own a 73 850 sport spider. Cutest car ever but horribly designed and broke down more than most Yugo's.

I can't believe that company used to build airplanes.

This is a long term goal of mine, I love the idea of quietly crawling through the backcountry. Of course range anxiety takes on a whole new meaning here. There is a guy in Colorado that converted a willy's over 10 years ago.

There are companies that are advertizing kits to do the conversion, but I'm not ready to give up my v8 just yet...

Okay, so, be CAREFUL - there really aren't site(s) advertising kits - what they are doing is collecting your info to sell.

I've looked and looked - this is all in it's infancy - that's why I was asking.

Here's where I am - I have two donner Jeeps - 1984 CJ-7 and a 1994 Wrangler (I6 flavor).

I've getting a quote for the most basic parts from Can EV (search on that if you're looking).

Anyway, away we go.
