My problem is the past owner already cut up the dash for a single DIN. Retrosound has have a single DIN repair kit (for another 44$). Does anyone have a pic with Retrosound with the DIN repair kit?

Here is my current setup, It drives my crazy how it looks. And it says "hello" every time I turn the Jeep on.

I bought the less expensive Retrosound radio several years ago, and since then have added one of these...

It works very well.

I see the Retro Sound head units at different depths in CJs. The directions are not very clear on how deep it should be. If it sticks out too far, it hits the knobs. Anyone know what the right depth for the head unit?

The shaft is threaded the full length. There are nuts that I used behind the dash to set the depth and then another set of nuts on the front of the dash to lock it in place. I have a bracket like shown in Keith’s picture that supports the weight of the radio.

I have the head unit sticking all the way out of the dash and it still hits the heating duct. How did you fit yours?

Do you have a picture of the radio front in the dash?

The top sticks out about 1/4.

That looks pretty good. I wonder if OEM knobs, or at least the fader/balance and tone control ones, would fit those Retrosound shafts?

For reference in case anyone can find the details, the OEM knobs with the black face take a 3/16" shaft. There are older OEM knobs with a silver face that take 1/4" shafts.
