Any one know what transmission this is?

I got this jeep engine and transmission from someone I knew who passed away. I'm not sure exactly what it is or what it's from. It's a carbureted 4cyl with a 4 speed manual transmission. I'll post pictures

That's a T4 and the engine is an AMC 150. They came in 82'-86' CJ's.

This guy https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f8/is...y-sr4-3169697/ is asking for a T4. If you want to sell the trans, you two should hook up.

What you've got there is a T4 transmission. The lack of a bulge on the driver side front tells me it's not a T5.

AMC 4's were after 1982. I thought they came out in 83, but Wiki ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMC_straight-4_engine ) says 84. Not trying to be a jerk, just thought it may avoid the "I got an 82 with an Iron Duke" comments.

By the way, my 82 came with an Iron Duke.

Good Luck

I'll admit I'm no CJ history buff, nor do I profess to be. You got me there and I don't want to regurgitate bad information, so thank you for correcting me on the AMC 150. The AMC 150 did, in fact, 1st show up in CJ's in 1984, not 82'.

Novak Adapters, which is where I got my info, needs to correct their error.

OP, your 4 cyl could be either the GM 151, or AMC 150 since we have no idea what year it came out of. GM version carb was on passenger side. AMC version carb was on driver side. That's the quickest/easiest way to tell them apart.

That's an AMC four cylinder. The little bit of angular bellhousing bolt pattern with two top bolts that can be seen gives it away. It's the same pattern as the GM 60 degree V6.

The GM four cylinder has the same pattern as the small block chevy with one bolt at the top of it.
