AMC 360 head gasket question

My casting numbers tell me my motor is a 1974, local parts stores cant find a listing for 1974, will head gaskets from a 1979 work in it??

hello
if you look at rock auto and look under the cherokee which had alot of 360's. they have the head gaskets for the 74 360 engine.

HI well then have your parts house look for a head gasket for a 1974 Cherokee with a 360 Or did Canada not have 1974 Cherokee's?

I will give that a try. I think we had pretty much everything the US had. But up here in Canada we like to charge 4 times the amount for everything.

The parts shop that stocks part for Skylab II will not have parts for our year/model of Jeep
We cannot accurately judge the trajectory of a speeding critter (cat, dog, sasquatch)
Record heat waves and floods only occur when we visit that area

Simple answer: Yes, all 360 AMV8 head gaskets should interchange from 1970 through 1991.

I see you're in Chilliwak. I was there one year when the salmon were running. Tons of them! Vedder River?

That's beautiful country. Stayed with friends at a lakeside cabin in the Cariboo area and took the long way back through Chiliwack to Richmond where my friend lives. Canada has gotten very expensive. $1.30/litre for gas...yikes!

That is a very reasonable price in Australia as well. Before the recent downward trend in the oil price I was paying up to $1.75 a litre! You got it good Stateside.
