AMC 304 alternator question

Hello,
I'm in the wiring portion of my build right now and I was hoping there would be an alternator that would fit that had the regulator built in. I'd rather not clutter up the engine bay with the large regulator box that AMC used
thank you in advance
Tim

Lots of good info on the web. The GM 10SI is a common swap. I installed one on my Willys Pickup. Simple install. Hard part is brackets to mount it.

Here's a bunch of info!

Look for your year

then "section 22"

I did not flip thru completely

I feel sure it will show both the 304 and 258 diagrams.

It probably will be EZ to figure out what will connect to what!

I spoke with the guy I deal with at Federated auto parts and he suggested a three wire alternator (70 amp) that has on main lead to the battery and another switched power and then a sense lead to the starter relay (power side) I think this will work just fine. The spacing for the bracketry was a little different but my son turned down a spacer from stainless on my lathe and we're in business.

Thank you all
