Gilles, Keith460 has a really good writeup on redoing the white wheels, including the pinstripe. Pretty sure he has the correct color too. Don't remember if it was Olympic White or not, but I'm leaning towards no.

Just had mine blasted, metal sprayed (zinc atomized with current) and powdercoated in Urban White. I didn't expect gloss but they look pretty good

We went back and forth on the color... they had gloss in stock and wouldn't charge me more for it, but it was very glossy... and I didn't want that... so we went semi-matte and we will see how it turns out... they charged me like $40 more for the powder as they had to order it.

They have had them for a week now, they said 2 weeks, so I am hoping for any day now... slap them big Baja Claws on them and go see how they hold up to the mud!

Hi Gilles,

unfortunately I have not gotten any pictures of the chromed company.

But I have the color numbers for the rims and decorative strips from 1980 found on the second page where it already existed as the Olympic white car paint.
Found in the attached pdf.

Greetings Jochim

Gilles,

I've also used these laredo decals. Put them on last month. Spent over 12 hours putting them on But well worth the effort.
Keep up the good work.
Kind regards
Steven from Belgium.

That says "snow white" for wheels....

I'll have to go dig around now and see if I can find the 20 page discussion on the proper "white" for wheels.

Just got them back from the powdercoaters.. they primed them as well after striping them, sandblasting, de-greasing and cleaning them.

They look very nice... a semi-gloss/matte color.
Just so everyone knows, this isn't a cheap endeavor, it costs plenty of $$$$ to have it done, but I think it is worth it.

Next up, get the spare 35" and get Claws mounted on them and on the Jeep and test them out!

I know Eastwood has pinstripe wheels for different width stripes. In case you are interested.
May still need somewhat of a steady hand though ?

Hah! That's my friend John who did the pinstripe on the wheel in the video above after drinking two shots of Jack Daniels and sipping on a glass of wine to steady his nerves so he said. He's a wood working artist that makes church furniture and it involves a lot of hand painting and carving in his line of work. All I did was provide the wheels and and the DC drive jig to mount them to with the ability to turn them at any variable speed he wanted. They came out great, all nine of them!

The wheels on my Jeep were powder coated also in bright glossy white and I used a sample wheel that was brand new in appearance I found 20 years ago in a garage sale that was never used on a back of a Jeep with a spare tire cover over it and garage kept. The wheels are NOT Olympic white in color, that's and exterior color from AMC. They are gloss white and only the plain steelies are an off-white like antique white.

Nothing like a fresh set of waggies to make you feel good. I'm going to be putting a tiny bead of PU or silicon in the seam. Otherwise the water will get in there and rust like the billio. Reckon ill go with a light grey colour then a black pinstripe. May need to seal the back side too
