77 levi edition seat questions

I just bought a 77 cj7 from the original owner. Vin checks to be a levi edition w the blue seats. The seats are original to the jeep but don't appear to be "jean type" material. They look like blue vinyl but w a leather look. Not denim. The stitching is identical to pics I've seen of the Levi's. But no buttons and I cant find any holes in the material where they may have been. The doors are definitely the Levi fabric. I also have 4 visors. 2 in the spun nylon that looks like the denim fabric....2 that match the seats. New to the forum and haven't figured out how to post pics yet...or if allowed. I'm still on the free subscription. Who out there knows about the interior? I'm confused about these seats....shouldn't they look like the denim look visors? The prior owner repainted the jeep blue. It was originally white. I want to refurbish to the original condition. Anyone know what hood graphics it came with? He said it was a renegade. Not sure if there were choices back then or only the one design Phoenix graphics shows for it.

THX!

Here is pic I pulled off a CJ8 forum from a few years back. The poster stated that these were the blue seats used in the 1978 and prior CJs. The items are no longer available on eBay but may give you an idea of what they should look like.

I had a 77 Levi edition and the seats didn't look like these at all.

Here is a pic of some Levi's seats. I pulled these pics from the internet years ago, it was an original 19k mile 1977 CJ5 Levi Renegade.

The Levi’s interior package was common on the Renegade but could be separate from what I understood. Only the full sized Jeeps like the Cherokee got the cloth Levi’s material while all CJs got vinyl Levi’s looking material due to the removable tops. Both got the Levi’s buttons and patterns.

Yours looks like a reupholstered job and some point. I could be wrong.

Back in 77', an option, but standard on the Renegade and Golden Eagle, were the Levi's edition denim vinyl interior in tan or blue. Same pattern as you are sporting but not vinyl. Vinyl seats had a different pattern and were refereed to as Wellington vinyl that only came in black or buff.

All Levi's edition interior had same denim vinyl cloth with "Levi's" buttons on the seat at each cross stitch location. The Levi's buttons have become more desirable and expensive to replace if you can find them. They are typically worth more than the seats now-a-days.

I would ask the owner where he had the seats reupholstered, because they are, and if he saved the original Levi buttons that were on the seats.

What Timaaaay83 & schardein posted for seat design, pattern, material and color is correct.

Yeah i have a levi's edition '78 what is tan in color, and it has the metal levi's buttons at all the cross stitching as Kieth mentioned.

1978 CJ7 I6, 2.5" dik cepek spring lift, 0.5" shackle lift, Cooper Discoverer S/T 33's, 1.25" Wheel Spacers.

Whats Next: Wide track swap, winch, new seats, eventually a 4.0 mpi swap from a 90's cherokee or wrangler.
