Cj 4.0 swap parts combination help

Ok, trying to plan out my future 4.0 swap into my running 1980 CJ-7. I’m not looking at specific “how-to’s” as there has been a ton of documented stuff on here, but more opinion of the parts choices and combinations. Like many of you I’ve collected parts over time and haven’t decided down a single path. I’m not saying money is no object, but I’m not looking for the cheapest option. I will do some of the work and outsource some based on my time/ability.

My 3 options:

4.0 Head on 358 (no rebuild)—-not really interested in this one, but maybe as a stop gap for fun
4.0 rebuild and swap- using T176 or AX-15 transmission (I’ve already rebuild both tranny’s)
4.0 stroker with 358 parts-I think that produces a 4.5?-again using the T176/AX-15

The main goal would be have my jeep long trip reliable and go the speed limit up hills on the interstate lol. I don’t go mudding or rock hopping etc…just tool around with out the top mostly, sometimes forestry roads and light off road.

Inventory:

Current Jeep-1980 CJ-7 unmodified, 258 with SR4 and d300

Donor Jeep-POS but running 1994 XJ Country with 4.0l + automatic

2 Spare 4.0L engines, 1999 (903MX18 ) and 1990 (006MX15)—were said to be “knocking”

2 Transmissions—Tremec 4 T176 and AX-15 (’89-'91)

1 spare D300—Long shaft—Looks to need a little TLC

My first instinct is a 4.0 l, with a few upgrades perhaps, with the T-176 and D300 from the CJ.

Thoughts?
