1986 CJ7 Dana 44 Wheel Bearings

I looked through many related threads and still confused. I have a Dana 44 rear that needs bearing and seals. I ordered a set and what I got does not appear to be the same.. I hope someone can assist with the correct bearing/seal numbers..

The bearing that was sent to me is a National A-10, 9912 collar and 481837 seal.. This bearing appears one piece with the race connected. What I pulled is a Timken with no number on it...The race still needs to be pulled out of the axle tube.

I realize the Dana 44 has been used in many applications before and after 86..Further, 86 being an odd year as AMC ran out of the 20... Are all years interchangeable? Does anyone have the Timken numbers for bearing/seals for 86? Some applications call for an inner seal...I don't seem to have one on the 86...

Im not one to post but really need the help. I did see a few threads but nothing specific about the 86 D44...

Thanks..

Here are the factory 86 CJ D44 part numbers, maybe you can cross reference them.

J324 0086 - SEAL
J323 0115 - BEARING

Autozone sells the Timken bearings around here. I will have to put some bearings and seals in my D44 in the coming months, so I am curious to see what you come up with. It might be worth trying them, if you have one in New York.

Excellent LT1 and all that helped. The Numbers LT1 gave look like the bearings I took out. I was able to get the bearings at Autozone..Although, I had to go to two different stores to get all.

Doing a frame up that should have gone to the Junkyard However, making good progress now. Frame stripped and painted/axles rebuilt and hung on a RE 2.5 standard lift.

Long way to go yet! Again thanks to all..Mike
