1983 jeep cj7

Ok guys I took my Jeep out for a drive and it ran great when I turned off off and went in the store and come back out it wouldn’t do anything when I turn the key on the dash lights come on and radio but will not turn over I replaced the starter solenoid and still nothing has good power going into the solenoid and also to alternator. I’m lost and I figure it’s something simple all fuses are good also help lol

i am sure others will chime in, but do you have power when you turn the key to start ? if not it could be the "real" switch sitting on the steering column , it is engaged by a metal rod from the key cylinder . if it is moved a little from right position it will NOT send power to the RUN wire going to the relay.

Does the key turn all the way to the start position and return?

1983 CJ7, 258 engine, T-4 trans. Mostly stock with some useful upgrades.
