1983 CJ7 Paint Code

Can anyone tell me what paint code this is? It's on my 1983 CJ7. Also, is this a Laredo? Appreciate the info!

It looks like a 9E- which would be wedgewood blue, but that doesn't make sense, as that color ended in 1979... is it a 9B (olympic white)?

3EB interior; slate blue high back buckets in vinyl denim=not Laredo

The vin's 10th digit is a D which is 83, however the paint code 9E was used until 79, from what I can find. The paint codes from 83 don't show a 9E. During the AMC era record keeping was a little lax, it could have been used. Looking at pic the it could have been Wedgewood Blue.

I think it should be 9B and not 9E. Tags have been posted before on the forum with incorrect letters so that is no surprise.
9B in Olympic White makes sense with denim slate blue interior for 1983. Even the firewall tag with check tag attached behind it looks to be original and original color of white.

The wiring in the engine compartment, from PO's, must be a hoot to deal with since we see it coming out of holes drilled at random.

Well it certainly is blue, but that was my question too. All of my research showed Wedgewood Blue as a 1979 color and not a 1983 color. The Jeep is definitely an 83, but the color for sure looks Wedgewood Blue. I'm trying to order some paint to match it so I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going crazy looking this information up. Thanks for the help - this is my first Jeep!

Haha I haven't even started getting into that, other than yanking a ton of old stereo system wiring out of it from PO's. Surprisingly everything works on it so as of now I'm tackling other things first!

Strange, thats definitely close to Wedgewood blue (much closer than Olympic White!) Can you tell if it's been repainted? Your tag looks white in the pic; how about the engine compartment? Under the tub/ dash?

This is freaky (to me) not by the paint code but by the name 'Wedgewood Blue' that is much darker...

as it happens I just recently did some paint patching on my other rig a '98 Ford Econoline.

The parts shop that stocks part for Skylab II will not have parts for our year/model of Jeep
We cannot accurately judge the trajectory of a speeding critter (cat, dog, sasquatch)
Record heat waves and floods only occur when we visit that area

Inside outside and under the hood is all blue. I'm pretty sure it's the original color too.

It wouldn't be the first time something was special ordered from Jeep factory; what would be amazing is if it was actually documented correctly. (Like on that tag)

I'm restoring a 1983 cj7 that has paint code 9e. It was originally purchase in Bakersfield, Calif. Here are a few pictures of the fender tag and original paint when in bought it.

Nice! Are you repainting it Wedgwood Blue? If so, where did you get the paint? I was able to find this spray paint that is a VERY close match to it. But I would love to get my hands on some original. I live in California, so sadly most places can't ship spray paint to me smh...
