1982 CJ7 Silver Eagle Decals

I bought a 1982 CJ7 Silver Eagle Recently. The decals on the jeep do not look like the newer decals I see on the few silver eagles I have found. Can someone tell me if these decals are original to the jeep or if the silver bald eagle similiar to the golden eagle is the actual decal that AMC used on the silver eagle package? See pictures.

I imagine this is what you are seeing around the webs.

Not gonna lie, that's a pretty cool eagle you have there. My guess, and I suck at guessing, is someone asked a decal person to do their own custom design of the Silver Eagle. The Eagle in my attached picture seems to be uniform with the eagle designs that Jeep uses. But hey, if that's a super rare version you found and its factory, that's pretty awesome.

That's what I'm hoping lol. The VIN doesn't tell you anything about the package. I need someone around 60 or 65 who might have seen these out of the factory. I'm 41 so no idea and theres not much on a silver eagle anyways. Heck they don't even shown they exist on most of these jeep forums but there was a silver eagle that much I know.

Can you snag a picture of your trim tag? It's on the firewall, engine side, probably between where the steering column comes through and the fuse box. Small rounded rectangular piece of sheet metal that is about 2"x4" and should have a few codes on it.

Let's see;

6BA (Interior) - Almond (6) Bucket Low-back (B) Vinyl - Linen (A)

1? (Exterior) - I did some research and that looks like an 'M' - 1M - Oriental Red

I'm a bit lost on the interior being Almond, I am probably missing something here because I didn't have the 1982 color codes for interior. I know it doesn't help much in getting the exact package, but knowing everything is original maybe it can help.

I'll continue to look, but Silver Eagle is a ghost. Maybe call Collins Bros and let them know what you have and ask them if it exists and if they have a decal package for it. I imagine they'd know pretty quick.

I found the 1M on paint scratch which was the oriental red which is still orignial. I did the same on the interior package as being almond but somewhere else on here I saw where 6BA was interpreted as black. Not sure how they did that. The interior is orignal. In fact it's all original. The only thing is the decals. It makes me wonder if it was just a Base CJ7 and someone went and put the silver eagle decals. The only thing wierd about that is that I've found at least 2 other people who claim to have silver eagles on the web if you google it. You'll see the red one you posted, and a black one as well. They also sell a silver eagle decal on the web that matches the golden eagle.

I really don't believe there ever was a Silver Eagle package from Jeep. There's only pics of that black 5, and a blue 5. The red 6 is all over the place, but...

As for that red CJ 6, I believe it was a former state DNR vehicle , which was repainted and had decals added. Look closely at them, that aren't even the same font on the red one/ black one. The red hood letters are lower case, which no jeep ever had.

I suppose it's possible a dealership somewhere decal'd a few in order to sell them off, the only pictures I've EVER seen were on a CJ5 , no '7's?

The bottom decals are purely aftermarket, not part of a jeep package.

The seats you have are not factory.

I believe Joon is correct. The factory never offered this package, however some dealerships did offer their own decal packages. This is probably one of those.
