2021 Compass sounds like a diesel

I just bough a 2021 Jeep Compass Sport 4x4 two month ago. I drive.. a lot. I now have 7300 miles on it. My issue is, before the first oil change at around 4300 miles, it started to sound like a diesel. I've even had people ask me how I got a diesel in that model. I have to tell them it's not and they give me this surprised look. Other than the annoying noise and occasional smirk that I bought a POS from random strangers it runs just fine. I'm getting 24mpg and it has a ton of power. I love this car. I ended up getting this because the 2019 Dodge Journey decided to destroy it's transmission at 38,000 miles. After some fierce negotiations and major stalling with the service and sales department, I walked out with the Compass, minus the negative equity from the Dodge and a 10year 100k mile warranty. I just hope I don't have to use it and spend more time in a rental than my Pretty deep red Compass named Brenda.
Thanks for reading. If anyone has any suggestions Please let me know.

well being new i would say take it back. If it sound nothing like the rest they have should be noticeable.

Some 4 cylinders if they have DI<Direct Injection. Some of the pumps used for this can be noisy like older diesels. Not saying your has that sound stock as you stated it did not do it new. Break in tends to end two ways.

last 4 pop we had was the LNF2.0T with DI. at idle the mechanical Hypop was noisy. remind me of the 7.3 we have that are TD. Motor had power at 265 stock and the stage 2 on the Gxp model near 300Hp. that was back in 2008......
