2018 Compass - Disable Weather Alerts

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to disable the weather alerts on my Jeep since I got it. They are very annoying and they do not go away until you actually click to close them. Sometimes they are even unsafe when you are trying to use your navigation on the freeway and suddenly notice that instead of showing which ramp to exit to, the screen is blocked by a weather alert miles away from where I am or plan to go in the near future.

I am sure this happened to everyone. Has anyone tried to find a way to disable these alerts?

Thanks,

What model radio do you have in your Compass?

If you have/had the Sirius XM, I don't believe you can block these. This same discussion has been on going in other forums.

I tried everything to get rid of ours - they are part of the SiriusXM 5 year Travelink subscription that comes with the 8.4 Nav and it is impossible to have it disabled at any level. I tried to cancel the subscription (even though it was free) and it could not be removed at any level by anyone at Sirius, or at Jeep. Definitely annoying and unsafe. So many Weather advisories for counties I've never even heard of!

Mr. Baja, I tried to find a model number, but I couldn't find any specific information other than that it's the 8.4" Uconnect with Navigation.

I guess we all have to live with it. It is a lease so I am not going to have the car for 5 years. Hopefully Jeep reps are reading the forums and will do something about this in future models.

That's all I was wondering....to see if it was the same model as mine. I have the Uconnect 4 with the 7 inch screen. I have the SiriusXM but not that travel warning upgrade. No navigation but the phone GPS/maps app shows on the screen when hooked up.

My problem is getting the radio to shut up when using the phone nav. (other than mute or turning down the volume).
