I think that mine came in a week because the dealer ordered it saying that they already had my money.

Well, we got a card yesterday saying the part was in but the description says fuel actuator. I sent a text to the service girl/woman/person that helps me out and she is going to check on it to see if it is the right part.

2009 GC Limited. 265 70 18 is the only change to date. Bought some Rubicon 17" wheels and put BFG M/T's on for hunting season OME HD Front, OME MD rear, winch to come, basket and lights bars first

Changing the actuator will not help. C140F will show up again. Question is how long will it take - one day - one week - ????

My order had the same description, which I questioned, but the part came in correctly.

Here is what I received in response from Chrysler Customer Care:

Dear Jacob:

Thank you for contacting the Jeep Assistance Center in regards to your
2005 Grand Cherokee.

I am sorry to learn of the concerns raised regarding your 4WD Light activation. I appreciate the time taken to bring these concerns to our attention.

The recall you reference to was to address a condition where your 4WD service light would not activate while a condition was present that required activation. Once the recall is performed, this light will activate to outline an operating concern with your vehicle that existed prior to the recall being performed. The recall in turn would not cause a vehicle operating concern, but instead allow the system to activate the warning system to indicate the pre-existing problem.

I have updated your file to reflect the information provided in your email. If you are experiencing any problems with an issue you feel deserves attention, we certainly recommend that you contact your local dealer to arrange an appointment so that they can inspect the vehicle and determine an appropriate course of action.

Thanks again for your email, Jacob.

Sincerely,

Jeff

The "service girl" has confirmed that it is the correct part. Now to make an appointment. I owe her beer.

EDIT: My son is on the way there right now but he is too young to buy her beer.

I am not editing again. The new actuator and the connector are broken. Apparently there is a pin down in the connector that is broken. They are re-ordering the part. (Insert a few choice words here.) I will be called Tuesday with an ETA of the new one.

Ducktail,

Here is the email I sent in:

I had this recall performed and during a winter storm I was not able to
use my 4LO and gave me the "service 4WD light" I took it to the dealership
and they stated it was a bad actuator. After much research, many many Jeep
owners are going through the same problems and have replaced actuators
just to find out that this problem still exists and that the problem is in
the software. Please let me know what Jeep intends to do to fix this
problem as I am not spending $1000 to have an actuator installed just to have the
problem reoccur. I will also be filing a complaint with the NHTSA as
well. Outten (my dealership) stated they were not familiar with the problems and that I
"don't really need 4LO". I paid for it so I think I deserve to have a working
Jeep.

That does not sound like he answered the question to your problem.

And you need a new dealer to deal with.

And wasn't you 4 lo working before they fixed it?

Yeah the 4lo worked great. Probably used it once per month with no issues at all. I have owned 3 Jeeps and never encountered anything like this before.

Had reflash preformed, and 2 weeks later the code came back. Brought Jeep back and had the actuator replaced for free. 4 weeks later I started the jeep and the message popped up again. " service 4 wd system"

What's next?
