Jeep Factory Tour Photos

So this last Friday (May 14th) a group of us JF members got to tour around the factory. I don't have as good recollection as others do about the whole thing (Other than the fact it was pretty freakin' cool). But I'm gonna post all the photos that they took of us. We weren't allowed to take in our own cameras, and this is what we were given.

All of us being told how the factory works and a general history of Jeep:

Along the assembly line.

One of the finished products. (The line manager came running up during this picture since we stopped the line and he wasn't aware. )

All of us out front with our Jeeps showing off as best as we could.

I just posted the pics on my FB & personal gallery. I wish we could have gotten a large resolution version of all of us in front of the Wrangler on the line. It would have made a great wallpaper.

Jeeping - The art of getting dirty & going broke while slowly heading nowhere, and taking all day to do it.

97 XJ SE - The War Wagon
98 TJ - Mall Crawler/Light Trail Rig
06 KJ - Basic Transportation

I'll ask if they do. Cause 640x480 is cell phone quality almost.

8 Chris (Bojang)

16 Tim (Dagr8tim)

Stuff I remembered:

The plant is big. Finding "Gate 2 with the blue awning" was a cluster****.

The plant is 3 sections:
DC/Fiat(?) OMMC and Kuka. (my bro in law works in Kuka at the end of the paint line.)

OMMC does the frame assembly with all its components -OMMC is a subsidiary of Hyundai.

Kuka was the paintshop

The DC side was final assembly Wrangler/Liberty/Nitro. This is what we saw.

We saw a few things that intrigued me
A Thai export Unlimited with no bumpers and a few things
that aren't required for Thailand, RHD jeep, a diesel Wrangler.
The 2011 hard tops will have a bigger rear glass and bigger side windows.

There were 2012 prototypes around but we never saw any.
The DC plant Mgr (I'm terrible with names) Marlyne Grisson Bush gave our tour.
She said the 2010 Wrangler will be a retool with changes that
"add comfort but keep what makes the Jeep a Jeep"

There are 4 trimlines out/coming out in 2010:
Islander/Mountaineer/Mohave/Arctic plus a 70 yr anniversary model

The Mountaineer line Liberty had blacked out headlights,
grill and gunmetal wheels. It was pretty cool looking

The plant is pretty much bright and spotless.
I saw one oil spot on the Liberty side and that's it.

The delivery semis are all robot unloaded and the parts are
put on carts that are robotic and drive themselves to the line.
Almost no forklifts

Current: 99XJ 6.5 lift-Bought 2015
Sold: Patriot Blue 00 XJ.
'sploded: 01 stock-0331 head victim

Also, asked if they got any larger resolution pictures, and that was the size straight off the camera.

That was crossing my mind, who's Jeep is getting pictured? Plus I had to wonder about them all, including a white CRD two-door we were all over.
