Anyone into prospecting for gold?

I bought my WJ so Id have a more comfortable ride than my Samurai to get to my gold claim. I found little gold here and there, nothing to crow about. But gold fever is real and I pine for the time I can get back out and dig dirt.

My claim is in Nevada County here in CA. The road in is rough but the WJ makes short work of it.

Anyone else into prospecting? My claim is down there somewhere

I wish. There's more gold around me in peoples teeth than there is in the ground.

The best way to get rich during a gold rush is to be the guy selling shovels.

I'm the only gay eskimo.

We go prospecting on occasion. Have a 2ft sluice and a shovel behind the back seat and a backpack with pans.

We havent been looking in a few years ,need to though! When we first went prospecting it was to Cal. I always wanted to do it since i was a kid. We haven't found much, maybe 80 bucks worth, but we have fun just tooling around in the backcountry looking. Our jeep is usually based in Phx.
Would like to go this summer and look some more. One day go up into Alaska or Yukon!

How long u been searching?

I staked my claim in 2015. But I try to run a pan or two whenever I'm in an open area in gold country. Just a few flakes here and there. I'm hoping to hit a pocket on one of my claims but it's hard to break free to get up there more than a couple times a year. When I go, I usually end up doingmote exploring than prospecting. Old mine sites and trails fascinate me.

Me too. Was in Calico, Ca. wheeling a couple months ago. Tons of mines and shafts all over the place. Went in one and I must have walked back 1/2 mile! It just kept going... but since I was alone I started getting nervous, so I headed back out.

There are many women who can be described as gold diggers, my ex wife being one of them.
