What things do you always take with you when hiking / camping? This summer I always took hammock and small pillow with me. My friend could o't refuse special dish for cooking vegetables over a fire. What things do you always take with you on a hike, although they may seem unimportant to someone?

I don't go hiking often, but I enjoy being in nature. Usually I have someone with me who knows better what is needed on a hike and takes it, but I recently found the hike packs and thought that it could really be useful for me. I chose one of the options on this site https://fannypackz.com/m/hiking-fanny-packs/ and decided that in this fanny pack I can put the essentials and I can easily and quickly find them if I need something. I really think this is a cool thing that is very roomy and doesn't bother you wherever you go.

Back in my younger days it would be a canteen (no water filtration system), compass, lighter, knife, bedroll (wool blanket).
