RTT vs car camping

Hello! Anyone have thoughts on a RTT vs using an air mattress in the back? Iím planning on doing some longer trips this coming spring/summer and I'd like to avoid a tent-on-the-ground situation if possible. Leaning towards car camping and stowing any extra gear on top. Love to know what your experience is if youíve done either RTT or car camping!

We like our RTT because we can fold it and go (with a little securing) whenever we wake up.

There are pros and cons, but we leave the bedding in there and it folds up nice and neat. We unfold it the next night and we are ready to lay down.
