Get something concealible and dependable.

It's looks like a sissy gun but I carry a hammerless 38 special with +p rounds. No one knows its there and won't jam when fired from my pocket.
How is he scaring people?

I'd be concerned with over penetration at closer ranges with those. Get some hollow points for defensive purposes.

This, of course, is only a suggestion. It's your risk and responsibility.

You need to shoot about 250 rounds of practice, and carry ammo before you start toting that thing around.

At least. I don't consider the gun broken in without 500 personally. Does make for a fun afternoon however.

It's more then an arbitrary round count... Thousands of clearing leather cycles and reloads play a role here too.

i dont own a gun thats not had 5000 rds through it. my 22 has lots. i lost count. probably like 20,000. i shoot my guns alot. im not worried about getting 250. im already at 200 rds and i just got the thing. it will run. i expect glock like reliability with better ergos and better on the eyes. itll run good

I suppose i should have added broken in is the beginning. I shoot IDPA and USPSA. I put a lot of lead down range.

I like revolvers. They are dependable. You can carry them with the hammer on an empty cylinder.
Mostly I carry a Ruger LCR which is light and fits everywhere, or an older Colt Peacekeeper, both in .357 mag.
For places with a lot of bears, a Smith .44 mg in stainless with a 6 inch barrel.
For Alaska and a few other places, Marlin Guide Gun in .45/70.

You just need to practice more. A .44 mag is no big deal at all. I like a 6 inch barrel so I can shoot as fast as I can pull the trigger.

Since I live in the Nanny state of "Kommifornicate", my hiking and off road carry is my Ruger Blackhawk in .357 in the 4 5/8" flavor. It is dead on reliable, easy to shoot, and matches my Marlin 1994C in .357 perfectly for Hogs, or Javalina. It makes a nice back stop if I am approaching a kill, and it gets up again !!
