Wrangler 17" wheels on WK

I just purchased a '09 WK and need to replace the wheels and tires. At this time, I'm keeping it stock and using original tire size of 245/65/17 or wider if needed for the new rims. I found some used Wrangler 17" wheels, I think they are JK Moab wheels. Will I be able to fit these onto my WK without my trouble? From reading other posts, it looks like I just may need some spacers? Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

You will need spacers to clear the calipers. I run 1" spacers on mine but some others prefer 1-1/2" other than that they fit just fine.

I found 3 ways to fit JK wheels on my 07 WK.
First, grind the caliper mount bracket for clearance. didn't like that idea.
Second, I used 1" spacers. caused the tires to stick out past the fender lip. made a mud mess on the body sides. didn't like that.
Third, used a 1/4" spacer that just slips over the wheel studs. have just enough space and no problems in the 4 years they have been on there. also, only needed them on the front.
Good luck.

Hey mate, is there a lift on that? What tires are those?

I'm really new to this and I'm thinking of getting takeoffs for my WK Limited. The 18" wheel size I have is limiting me.

In those puctures, No lift, 255/70r17s and the pinch weld mod, but it still rubbed a little in the front. I now have a 2 lift and its great.

Looks so good with those wheels and tires. If I did those with a 2" lift and spacers would the pinch weld be necessary?

Depends on what size tire, but in general you can skip the pinch weld mod with a 2 lift. I would have not done it, if I knew I was going to lift it.
