WK Grille Guard/Winch Bumper Options

This thread is being started as a place to post all aftermarket options for WK bumpers, brush guards for sale

Please do not "Quote" this post as it is long and let's keep the thread bare and minimal, only showing bumper, grille guard, bull bar options in an individual post with all info, or review response to that post specifically.

So I have had a WK CRD for about 13 months now, and been doing a lot of Equipment readiness work.

Disassembly
Inspection
Cleaning
Lubricating
Reassembly

The plan is to use the WK as a tow vehicle and off-road explorer or Overland rig.

Done some basic mods, changed fluids, fought some Gremlins in the electronics system, and basically become very close to my WK.

I have been Looking at bumpers front and rear all along "since" I bought it, but not before. Had I checked before I likely would have held on and gone for a different rig. That being said I am now committed to the WK, and like every couple in counselling, "want to make it work"

This thread is being started as a place to post all aftermarket options for WK bumpers, brush guards for sale, good or bad, worthwhile, or not just as a long term growing (hopefully) list of options for the WK. I have checked most of these out myself, and looked into costs, shipping, and value.

Please post as much of the following info as possible:

Picture
Link to company that sells them
Front and rear
Price
Weight

If you have any of the bumpers listed, please feel free to give any reviews regarding performance, durability, usability, ease or difficulty of installation, trail usefulness, or trail shortcomings.

I will start by posting the common ones, both attainable and mythical. (Saguaro) Please post each bumper type in its own post.

Now that the WK is more than 10 years old, logic says companies should be making aftermarket bumpers for them, but I have personally contacted more than a few JK WJ bumper suppliers most of whom replied to me that there is no demand for WK winch bumpers and the WK is basically a soccer mom vehicle, and not a real Four Wheel Drive.

ARB Deluxe Bar Jeep WK

ARB
http://store.arbusa.com/ARB-Deluxe-B...130-P3330.aspx
http://www.quadratec.com/products/12...02_07.htmFront and rear
http://4xguard.com/arb-bumper-for-je...-cherokee.html
$1450 USD
Weight: 150 lbs
N.B. 4xguard is the only site that clearly lists this bumper's weight.
Seems to be front bumper only

Also according to this ARB PDF the bumper only fits 2005-2007. ALso there are other extra cost kits to mount a winch lights etc: http://www.arbusa.com/uploads/PDF/ac...CherokeeWK.pdf

Crawl Offroad:
$1200 USD (Add $460 for hidden winch mount)
+100 w Brawler Bar
+100 w LED lights

Weight: ?
N.B. Reading the Crawl Offroad site it states: "Bumper is designed with the Steel Armadillo hidden winch mount in mind, and it is highly recommended to install the winch mount prior to installing this bumper."
Rear Bumper as well? There was talk, but it is not on the site today.

Looking at the Steel Armadillo site, this adds an additional $462.92 plus tax

http://thesteelarmadillo.com/index.p...&product_id=58

Apparently they have gotten some of their early development glitches figured out:

Bluelake Offroad aka Tactical Armour Group

Bluelake Offroad Winch Bumper: $620 USD

http://www.bluelakeoffroad.com/index...d=61&parent=21

This seems like a reasonably priced option; however having done a fair amount of research on this, it is the same photo used on a site by TAG

https://tacticalarmorgroup.com/TAG-B...e-WK-2005-2010

While I have not had any interaction myself, I have read other people's stories, and apparently lead times are very long.

Metal Passion aka Metal Pasja

At the risk of posting what may become the new "Unicorn" or "Saguaro" sought after but unattainable, this beauty has turned up and left many anxiously asking when, where, is it garbage, or goodness

Front and rear: Yes, both
Price front: $1100 base
Price with 2 detachable recovery points, led diurnal spot lights, detachable bull bar: $1500 USD + shipping {from Poland}

Matrix 4xGuard

Using stock bumper, this is more of a grill guard with a hidden winch mount. Rocky Road makes one like this. I never really totally understood what you need to order to make it work, or what you actually get.

I think in the Jeep pictured below (belongs to Pac man form Jeep forum) they have a hidden winch mount, but not sure from where.

In the second picture taken from the 4xguard site, you can see what you get for $734. It looks like it may have a removable winch receiver, but I am not sure.

http://4xguard.com/grand-cherokee-20...ush-guard.html

D-ring recovery mounts pictured in the website link above are $188. Not sure if that is for one, or a pair.

Out of ALL those posts most of those bumpers are not available.. just the ARB for 07 only and 4xguard which is not a bumper but rather just a guard.

$1200 shipped for base bumper
+100 w Brawler Bar

Weight: 80lbs

We have just shipped the first bumper to be mounted without a winch mount. We had to make a few adjustments for him but it should mount correctly. We are in the process of finishing the rear bumper, should be off to powdercoating next week.
I will add more pictures as we ship bumpers to customer
I am being deployed mid April and our bumpers will be available through the Fab shop website. I will add the URL once it's functional.

I think there is an option for a tire carrier on this one. It comes from Poland, so shipping and duties will eat at you. A guy on Facebook just said he spent several weeks, calls, and emails to get it ordered.

You most likely will need to find a Saguaro sold used, they aren't made any more.

I'll need to contact Chris @ Crawl (ca07wk) for more info on his. Unfortunately he is getting deployed, and I am not sure how his projects are continuing at this time. For local/affordable, Crawl is probably your only options other than trying to find a fabricator in your town and work with them on a one-off.

Other thing to watch out for... as my research has found; there are not a lot designed to work with the loss of the 3" intercool on the CRD's. That pretty much leaves ARB's front bumper for a 100% bolt on product for the CRD with winch capabilities.

I have on order both the MetalPasja Dimond Duke (Front) and Dark Duke (rear) bumpers with the works. To answer a previous question, yes they will build a swing away tire carrier. They are in the process building the first one now. The bumpers they are building for me are all welded up, and they are in the process of building the tire carrier and removable bull bar now. They should be shipping towards the end of the month (I ordered them about a month ago). I will post a full review once they arrive!

As a company MetalPasja has been extremely professional and top notch to work with! I have been communicating back and forth with them for over 9 months at this point. I wish more companies had their level of customer service and were as passionate about their products as MetalPasja is!
