I'm sure you can get it to bolt in but the electronics integration is probably not going to be easy. I agree it's probably easier to just upgrade what you have or sell it and buy an SRT if that is what you are after.

Yeah man definitely. The SRT8 has the same transmission as the others except for the 5.7 HEMI and the engine will fit no problems.

I am not sure if the exhaust will match up perfectly or anything about the ECU, however.

Wrong.

3.7 and 6.1 both use the NAG1 trans, though I believe they are slightly different versions.

4.7 and 5.7 both use the 5-45RFE.

Bottom line is this: If the OP is asking this question, he's likely not capable of doing the swap. We're pretty much feeding a troll here.

Bangarng - Sorry, didn't mean that to sound so dickish. Was instead intending a much more informative tone.

Just swapping the 6.1 engine and exhaust, WITHOUT the transmission and transfer case, would be the easiest way to go about this. You'd for sure need to get a tune for it though. The engines are pretty much identical except for the exhaust and, since you're doing a VVT to a VVT you probably won't have too much of an issue with the cam phaser settings, at least nothing that couldn't be fixed with a good tune. If you change the transmission and transfer case over to the 6.1 stuff, you'll have a lot of grief, as indicated above.....they're both very different. IMO, you'd also need to do some upgrading to the 545RFE transmission so it'll work satisfactorily behind the 6.1 which has probably 70 or so more hp than your current 5.7. There may also be a few other electronic glitches too.

I donít believe the 2009 - 6.1L is a VVT engine. If thatís the case then the swap would be quite a bit more in depth.

If you were to do this, the best way would probably be to swap literally as much as possible from the srt8 to the other Jeep. Engine, transmission, both axles, front CV axles, ECU, BCM, engine harness, transmission shifter, probably engine subframe and transmission cross member, maybe even the gauge cluster? Hell, I would swap the brakes too, and the suspension. Basically an SRT8 without the body kit.

The structural portions of the body will be the same, so theoretically every part of the srt8 should bolt right in.
