Which shocks should I use??

Alright so i have a 2008 Jeep wk limited 2wd. I am looking to lift/level my Jeep with a RC leveling kit and want to upgrade my struts and shocks. I know the RC kit lifts the rear about 1" from what I've read and was wondering, since most offroad shocks say "with 2in. lift", will those type of shocks, fit??? Some shocks I have been considering are the Skyjacker Black Max. Also what is a good strut upgrade for a daily driver with the RC kit?

If you want to use the full kit and not preload your struts I'd go with Bilstein 4600s up front and 4600 or 5100 in the rear.

Also buy the kit from Crown, it's the exact same kit (just resold by Crown) but cheaper.

Are you going to be installing larger tires? If so, what size?

I am running 255/70r18 right now and will probably upgrade to 275/60r18. If I decide to go bigger than I would really want to run some 20x10 on 33s!

Do you have a lot of miles on your Jeep? Have you considered the complete Old Man Emu lift kit with new coil springs, struts and shocks?

I got the Jeep when it had around 107K in 2017, I now have 136K. I have considered the OME lift, but I wanted to be more on a tighter budget but still be a quality and good looking build.

One approach that works really nicely is the Bilstein 5100 series struts and shocks and some rear spacers. You can set the fronts to their 2" setting and then add a rear spacer for some lift.

Happy to supply that all to you at a nice price. You can PM me here on the forum or email me at [email protected] and we'll chat.
