my 2007 wk 5.7 overland hardly making 40mph... help me!

hi guys
I just bought a 2007 grand cherokee overland with 5.7 engine.
I have a few problems with the car
- first every startup (cold or hot) the engine will hold the rpm to almost 1300 1400 rpm for almost a minute before it drop slowly to normal.. even after a second of shut off the engine after long drive and start engine again the car hold the rpm the same way as its early morning first cold startup.
witch is very annoying specially when I'm making a move immediately and putting the gear selector to D or R it kicks hard and making the rpm drop from 1400 to 600 at once.
the second problem witch I'm not sure its related i noticed when I reach 40 mph the car start stalling and kicking until its past 60mph.. some times I cant make it go more than 40mph specially when I drive it normally I mean not accelerating so fast...

I tried to scan the car I only have one code witch is p0523 witch is engine oil pressure sensor/switch that might need to be changed but I dont see its related to my problem...

thank you guys and excuse me for my English... best regards

ok, have you looked at the spark plugs? I know it may sound stupid but the 5.7 hemi needs to have the plugs replaced every 30k. I'd pull 2 on each bank and check them. if they are black / carbon fouled etc, replace them. and get the black tipped ones that only seem to be available from the dealer. any other ones and the car runs like crap. there are 16 plugs which take me just over 1 hr per side to replace. be careful and you can get it done.
