Movable license plate

Hi all, hey have a WK hidden winch nearing completion end ! but anyway I've viewed a lot/ a few of swing down license plate hangers and then I filter through the reviews which just muddies the waters for something so simple. and I'm on the fence whether to make (leaning on the side make my own) or buy one other WKers have tried and experienced. What's your take. under 25 dollars

If the fairlead rollers are not hidden you can use 3/4" conduict hanger/clamps to clip onto .

Thanks for replying ravenworks but using S. rope with a Hawse fairlead which protrudes just under an inch.

Would you mind sharing which components you ended up using for your hidden winch? In particular, which mounting system? Thanks in advance!

First of all Tom welcome to the forum /WK in response to your question about the Winch plate I'm working with. It's a HK Off road winch plate as a starting point. I went with this one because they had a short lead time (had) and worked with me on a couple changes. I was able to suggest in their design and they were happy to delete some of the gusting that runs along their attachment points inline with vehicle. and after mounting have a few more for the 2009 (can only speak of my year) I needed to be able to attach my Roadmaster system for flat towing.

Still looking really sharp 3Recon, well done! Did you end up making your own license plate hanger or buy a manufactured one?

Edit: I see from the other thread that you made your own. Looks good!

I ended up doing the mod. on my original license plate holder. Just have to remove two lag screws for license plate along with spacer and ready for winch recovery. I have plastic mushroom like fastener on top edge of spacer between license frame that's attached to bumper. This was just a quickly (R&D) to get vehicle back into my driving rotation. spacer is coated with water proof Varathane plastic coat.

I really like that look! I'd like to do somewhat the same but I also have to deal with the complications of having a CRD. Thanks again!
