GDE vs Malone Tune

Currently considering both (GDE still sells to non US customers), which tune is better in your opinion? And it seems the Malone tune doesn't come with the OBD tool that needs to be ordered as well?

Have the Malone tune. Very happy with it so far. Flasher was $180. From what I hear GDE is quite a bit more expensive, but they can also make changes to the tranny. As far as engine performance, seems to be about a wash from my research. I just got mine about 1 month or so ago and have no regrets whatsoever. There's a malone tuning thread that I posted a shaky video. I plan on taking a nicer video with some good pulls, you'll have to check it out.

I bought the Malone 1.5 with the programmer and full deletes and it was worth every penny. Factoring in the exchange rate the GDE would take significantly longer to pay off via the fuel savings so it wasn't worth it to me.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, how are you guys coming up with the malone tune being cheaper? The Malone tune is $549 + $180 for the programmer while GDE has the tune including the programmer listed for $595

Malone price is CAD, and the GDE price is USD. So between exchange rate and shipping/customs charges, it becomes a significant price difference

$595 USD is currently $840 CAD. The regular price of $695 USD is $980 CAD. And I believe they used to charge extra for the DPF delete and swirl motor delete (I want to say $100 each?) that Malone includes at no charge.

Malone also had a sale at one point for 15% off of tunes, which brought it down to ~$470 CAD or $333 USD plus the tuner. I paid something like $650 CAD total for a stage 1.5 with full deletes when the GDE tune would've cost me twice as much.

Based on the here and now pricing though, the Malone 1.5 tune with deletes + tuner converted to USD is $516.

After only getting recommendations for the Malone tune I of course ordered the GDE eco tune today lol. But let me explain: I would pay customs on both tuners with the difference being GDE values the tuner at next to nothing compared to the $250 CAD with malone + I'm keeping the DPF + I read some rather ho hum reviews from a year back about the Malone, now everyone is raving bout them.
So basically with the pricing being so similar went with the GDE and the more proven track record. looking forward to run this tune!

Thx nonetheless, though!

I've been running the Celtic Tuning Stage 1 tune out of the UK for the past few months. Best >$500 USD I've spent on my Jeep.

Hey guys, I'm debating getting a Malone tune for my 2008. Did either of you notice a fuel increase with it? Thanks!

Correct. They will not sell to US registered vehicles.

I got the Malone HOT tune about a year ago. Very happy with the tune and the service(I did need to email them with a question about the flashzilla). I actually did notice a change in fuel consumption in that it decreased. DPF delete, EGR delete, and my DPF was probably quite plugged because the swirl valve motor burned out years ago. Used the resistor trick to finally get rid of the CEL.
