Research the "Pinch Weld" mod. There are some options on dealing with it.

What size are your tires?

Ultimately I hacked up both of my front splash shields, using heat, a cut off wheel and patience I shaped them, drilled some holes and used some reusable push clips to attach the cut up sections. It doesn't do as well to protect under the hood, but its WAY better than nothing. At some point, the tires is just too much for the space that was made to house a 29" tire.

I have been wanting to create a sheet metal replacement, its just not been super high on the priority list.

That looks like the front edge behind the bumper? I trimmed the ends off mine when I trimmed my bumper, as I was having the same issue.

Yeah, 285/70 is a pretty big tire. It is what I am running. You do need to look into what SteveROntario suggested with the pinch weld mod. Mine are pounded flat. I intend to cut that portion out and plate it over a little further back, but for now the sledge got it far enough out of the way.
