Does it smell like engine oil or diesel?

What color is the smoke?
Dark brownish, look for an exhaust leak but you’d hear it. Cooling hoses all intact? I’d check the PCV valve next to the turbo. Also check intercooler plumbing. Front of the engine. Down the right side going into the cooler and the coming out the left.
Any codes?
How’s it driving. Bumpy?

Good luck.

Oh and the glow plugs. Maybe one came loose. Could also be injectors.
Enough guessing. Send a video if you can.

I have also had this issue after the last exhaust recall/update (like the 5th or 6th now) but I didn't notice it was during regen. Happened 3 times and quickly goes away. 3rd time I was able to open the hood while it was still smoking and it looks to be coming from deep down inside in the area between the bottom of the windshield and engine compartment. Smelled and looked like steam. I had been running the AC so my guess was it was steam from condensation building from the compressor dripping on to the exhaust. Maybe they messed with some heat shielding? I have had it back twice to the dealer and they can't reproduce nor have any idea what it is. They claim it wasn't anything they did. Arrow shows where the "smoke" is coming from. (stock photo)

WhereIs the pcv valve?

I'll try to get a video but it never happens to me, only When my gf drives it. I've tried to replicate the problem but it never does. I caught it once and couldn't find out where it came from. I unplugged the elephant hose thing and it stopped, is it clogged? I have the cb engineering one but never installed it.

Happened again today, Could not pinpoint where smoke was coming from, could hear the injectors loudly as it was during regen, as soon as injectors went back to normal idle, the smoking stopped.

How do you know you are in regen? I have only caught it once in 110,000 km because it was smoking out the exhaust.

the PVC is the thing your elephant hose is hooked too ...here is the part from Rock auto

https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...on)+valve,5052

my elephant hose comes out down by the front driver fender(basically the pipe goes straight down under the brake master cylinder), so usually on hot days i see a puff of smoke come up to my left.
One time a guy crossing the street said my jeep is on fire !!! LOL

You are going to need to remove the plastic engine cover and the two foam cylinder covers to give it a good look. That will require temporarily removing the clean air pipe from the turbo to get the one chunk of foam out.
