DIY CRD Kidney Delete???

There痴 a place near me that has posted the ad below a couple of times and I知 tempted to go check his inventory out... I知 thinking I might be able to come up with the the right pieces to do a kidney delete and possibly a down pipe/cat delete. Plan would be to cut and fit everything then take everything to a welding shop to melt it together.

Any thoughts? Good plan or no?

Let me know if it works out. That's actually a pretty good idea. Take your kidney with you

The resonator kidney up front? I deleted mine with the hose from a CAT mentioned in a thread here. IIRC it's just a gentle elbow so if you find the right curve in there and chuck a coupler on each end you should be good to go.

I had the CAT hose on my for almost 5 years. It's finally being replaced as I started to get a hole in it from rubbing on the serp belt.

I have the CBE version, and just added a new pipe to link it to the intercooler.

Its pretty easy to make one with a 45 degree bent tube and a couple couplers.

I built my own kidney delete from mandrel bent exhaust tubing but made sure to put brackets on it to use the bolts that hold the OE piece. That way it can't rub on any belts or pulleys. I also modified the OE aluminum turbo discharge tube to use a silicone coupler and band clamps so I didn't have to duplicate the weird connection to the kidney on my delete pipe.
A cat / DPF delete pipe is doable too, just much more work. I would suggest you have your own welder for that one so you can at least tack it together as you go. Trying to cut all the pieces and then bring them to someone else to assemble sounds like a nightmare.

The CAT pipe just seems expensive for its use, in my opinion.

The CAT pipe cost me $40, that's a lot better than $215 for the CBE one.

Maybe I had the wrong part number. I found about $95 IIRC

My mistake, I was going off what I had in my notes but I forgot that it can be cut in two and I sold the other half to my friend. Full price it would've been $80 USD which is pretty close to what you found.

Finally connected with them and went to pick up some pieces. Turns out the have quite an operation going and the $10 mix & match parts are just their off-cuts, not-quite-perfect, and machine set-up/test pieces. Their website is https://khaosmotorsports.com/ They specialize in Charger/Challenger parts and were super cool to talk to. If you need some random pieces I壇 hit them up - they ship anywhere.

Anyway, pic shows what I got... lighter colored one on the right is aluminum for the kidney delete. The rest are stainless for my *maybe* cat delete.

I値l update when I have a chance to make something, but I知 a high school teacher so life just got kinda busy for me but hopefully I can get our shop teacher to give me a hand with the welding, since we have a full TIG rig in the shop! But yeah, might be a while!
