Detroit axle upper control arm

Recently I picked up a set of Detroit axle upper control to replaced my oem arm. The firmaments on the arm is horrible.
1. Distance between the fwd to aft chassis mount is undersized. Only way to fit is preload the arm to the chassis and jam it on.
2. The bore diameter on the arm where the ball joint pressed into is oversized by 2-3mm. So whenever you need to replace the ball joint with oem spec the ball joint will have a sloppy fit.
3. The flange height where the ball joints sit is oversized by 2-3mm.
4. The ball joint thread doesnít have the correct thread size.

I canít imagine getting the car to align with the out of spec arm. It will never be align.

Save yourself the headache and get something decent quality such as stuff from moog or similar quality.

underscore and 2005JGC like this.
