Custom Tire Carrier and Winch Mount

Been having fun building items for my 2008 WK CRD. Has a 2" lift, 255/75/17 tires with 1 1/2 wheel spacers, GDE tune and delete. Fabricated a tire carrier a couple months ago, just finished building the winch mount (still needs blast and paint). Next aux fuel tank where spare went.

looks good, is the winch mount bolted down by using the existing tow hook setup?

Do you have a pic of your tire carrier, I'm interested in the design you chose.

I cut out all but the back plate of the front crossmember so I could recess the mound an extra 4". Used a 2x2x1/4" that runs under the frame rails aprox 16" and uses 3 bolts with a backing plate through existing holes in the frame (front two holes were for the toe hooks), and one bolt through the side of the frame. Also attached pics of the tire carrier.

How big of a fuel tank are you going to build? I am going to look at some stainless steel rectangular ductwork tonight to see if I can make something with it. The people who did the process equipment for a plant in Kingston are offloading a bunch of stuff locally.

Not sure what the volume is but it takes up most of the spare tire well. Does not protrude below the frame rails.

Please post photos and overall dimensions. I went to the steel place and it's ridiculous. All the stainless steel you can dream of in every diameter fully polished.

Going to pick up the steel tomorrow. They just got all the parts cut out for me. So tomorrow I will start welding it together. Also changed out the steel main tank for the plastics gas one, easy job. Definitely needed to be done, it had lots of pin holes in it, I think the only think stopping it from pouring out was the yrs of dirt cakes on it lol.

Here's how the tank fits up under rear. Just mocked up at this point.
