Ton of DTCs, basically every interior module
So this thread seems to be the closest thing I could find to my issues, hoping it is ok to piggyback here... Over the last several months I have been trying to work out my "electrical issues". 2010 Jeep WK Limited. Now for the most part these tiny little glitches were not much of a bother to anything but my OCD. I would occasionally have the cruise control not want to turn on, most the time it works, some times I have to click the button a few times. only a few times in the 3 years I have owned it could I not get it to turn on during a particular drive. The auto high beams often flip out, sometimes they can work great, other times they would start clicking on and off very rapidly once the switch for high beams was pushed on. I mean like on/off a dozen times within a few seconds. Mostly I don't need to use the high beams so no big deal, just turned that feature off. another feature that never worked since day 1 was the horn sounding when locking the doors. The option is turned on in the EVIC and the horn work as does the alarm, but when locking the doors, no chirp. Then the park assist LED bar started randomly flashing. The whole thing lights up for a fraction of a second, and does so randomly. Some days it doesn't do it at all, other days it has flashed 5 times while pulling out of the driveway....and it doesn't matter if I am in reverse or not, I have had it flash in D going 70 on the highway! Just little things like that, nothing to annoying, but when I run the codes I will get 20+ codes, mostly communications fault codes on basically every module system in the interior. So I was slowly working my way through trouble shooting, checking connectors and grounds and such when I would be bored. One thing to note, I had a pioneer touch screen navigation unit installed when I first got the vehicle as the stock touchscreen system just wasn't modern enough. Generally I try to always do everything myself, but at that time I was short on free time and had extra money so I paid a local audio store to install it.... I am not certain that the place didn't cut some corners, long story short I wasn't terribly impressed with the attention to detail. So anyway, about 2 weeks ago I get in and BAM, all of a sudden I no longer have the memory functions, windows or door locks, no courtesy lighting either. It's a bit stranger than that though, like when I open the driver door the EVIC doesn't show that the door is open, and the courtesy lights do not go on. If i try to turn them on manually with the switch, they still do no go on. The memory function is gone as well, press the desired memory button and nothing happens. however when I pull the key out the seat does still move back for the easy exit, and forward again when I turn it on. The power mirrors are no longer powered. The Door lock switches on both the driver and passenger door do not work, though the remote key still locks/unlocks. The door switches are still illuminated though. If i try to roll down the front windows using the driver switches i get nothing. front passenger switch doesn't roll down its window either, but if I use the driver switch for the rear driver side door the window still goes up/down, and if using the rear passenger door window switch from the driver door switches, the window rolls down, but not back up!?!? At least the rear passenger window switches are still able to roll their windows up/down. Also when exiting the vehicle the stereo wont shut off until it has hit the programmed delay timer. Usually it would shut everything down once the door was opened, i assume that the door ajar switch is also being affected by the issue as that would also explain why the EVIC doesn't display the driver door as being open when it is. When I run the codes basically every single interior module reports stored codes for communications faults with nearly every other module. If I clear the codes, and run them 1 minute later I will still get almost all the same codes again(sometimes 1 or 2 will have dropped off) and they will almost all be reported as stored. the only active codes are generally the FCM U0024 is almost always present, and then usually the DDM/PDM/HSM/MSM will have some sort of active codes with regards to losing communications with various other modules. The AMP also reports stored code for B210D Battery Voltage low. Now when I check the battery voltage with my multi-meter it sits in the mid 12s, though the battery is a few year old now, but multi-meter reports mid 12s, and while its running, the scanners live data shows it in the mid 14s, as does my multi meter. 1 time I did manage to capture a weird voltage drop upon starting up, had the live data running, reporting some low 12s, when I turned the key the voltage dropped to 9 something, and then shot back up to the 14s a second later as the alternator kicked up. So what a headache, I will attach a copy of the DTC readout, but I almost assume this has to be a module issue, probably FCM? Maybe CCN? this wouldn't surprise me as this thing has been an electrical nightmare since day 3, literally. I have been replacing sensors and modules and such every few months it feels like. Bought it with 59K miles and at like 85k now, and have needed a new FDCM, TPMS module, the Trans solenoid pack went out just 2 months ago, various other sensors like oil pressure, purge canister, NVLD, replaced a starter already....crazy! whats even crazier is for some damn reason I LOVE this vehicle lol.... mechanical operation has been flawless at least and its a blast to drive, especially in winter. Anyway, that is my story, anyone got any ideas? I am kind of hoping that its just the FCM that is shot and then all those problems could be resolved in one shot... though I doubt i am that lucky, since the DDM/PDM/MSM/HSM are all basically dead in the water I am thinking I will start at the driver door and go from there testing the few things I can test without having a computer capable of running diagnostics on modules and such, maybe i will stumble upon something, but otherwise likely will have to take it in and have some real diagnostics done. Thank you for any help/ideas on possible causes.
