4.7 to 5.7 Hemi Swap

Hello everybody,

I'm thinking about swapping a 5.7l into my 2005. 4.7l WK and was wondering if the transmissions match or what I may need. Do they both share the 5-45RFE transmissions?

I want to know too. I have a reliable 4.7 rig, thats whats holding me down. I do wish it had more power on the highway, but thats it.

4.7 and 5.7's use the 545RFE transmission.

From what I've read, yes they both share transmissions and exhausts.

You will need a 5.7 engine harness, motor mounts, tuner, fuel line, but I'm not sure what else. Do check the bolt pattern for your 545RFE or if you will need a different torque convertor.

The cat. back is probably the same, but from the exhaust manifolds to the cat. back (the Y pipe) is different. I doubt the 4.7 and 5.7's share the same exhaust manifolds but, then again, I am not that familiar with the 4.7's.

If you want factory integration, youíll need complete wiring harness, PCM, cooling system, brake and ABS system, TIPM and FCM.
Itís honestly cheaper and easier to just sell yours and buy one with a hemi.

Yes my mistake, everything from the muffler forward will need to be swapped out apparently. Including the manifolds.
