255 70 17 with moabs - looking for experience/feedback

Looking for some input from anyone who has run 255 70 17 on moabs.

I am tenatively planning this combo. Have a 1.5 inch lift already installed. And wheel spacers ready. I think I'll need the spacers because of the Moab wheels....

Thanks!

Not sure how much different the offset was between the moans and the newer Rubicon wheels with the Willy's Jeep logo on them but my 255/70r17 Toyo AT2s fit well with no spacers on my 2" lift. I'm running RRO spacers up front and OME med springs in the rear.

The other nice part about the 255/70r17 is that with a little effort to smooth out the trailer hitch bracket they fit up underneath as a full size spare.

Ive got 255 / 65 / 17 geolanders on my '07 overland with JK moab's. dont know what the difference is between a 65 and 70 series, but mine fit great. only needed a 1/8" spacer on the front to clear the caliper bracket. No lift.

Well. Got em and they fit. The usual needs for moabs. Sanding down the caliper bracket etc. A small spacer would be nice. But the tires fit.

This is the exact wheel/tire combo I am looking at for my 2008 wk. Besides sanding down the caliper bracket, was their anything else you needed to do to make the wheels fit? Also I was wondering where exactly I needed to sand, or if it would be obvious once I test fit the wheel. Any help is appreciated.

It will be obvious when you put the wheel on. But when you remove your wheel. And are facing the disc brake system. There is a curved bracket that will be closest to you. As part of the casting process there is a raised "seam". Sand that seam down. And test fit until you have clearance. You need to tighten the wheel on all the way each time to check the fitment.
