2009 WK Limited 4.7 stock exhaust size

Hello all, I am replacing my exhaust soon and would like to know the stock exhaust size, will 3" piping fit? because that's all the options I see online.

Thanks, Cheyne Eaddy

When I got my 08 4.7 in December, the stock exhaust was shot. I opted for the MBR 3” cat back. I was getting a horrible drone around 35-40 so I ordered an oem style muffler and tailpipe from Dynomax. The drone was still there and ended up being my front prop shaft.

Now that I have the exhaust off to paint and undercoat, I’m not sure which exhaust to put back on. They both fit. From what I can tell the actual exhaust opening exiting the cat is about 2.75”. The rest of the exhaust from the cat back is 2.5”. So I’m not sure the 3” exhaust is that beneficial. It does have a straight through muffler so it’s less restrictive. Whether or not that amounts to anything more than additional noise, I’m not sure.

Ok, but you only noticed audible difference and no performance loss correct? And I am getting a gibson cat back.

3" fits perfectly. I used to sell the Gibson all the time but I've been selling the MBRP lately because Gibson got too expensive. The stainless MBRP has been very nice as well.
