2007 Jeep Commander Shifting issue NEED HELP ASAP

I have a 2007 Jeep Commander 3.7 4x4 it runs drives and shifts fine but today i started it engine light came on was a code for shift module and trans temp sensor? I reset it jeep still shifts and drives fine how ever i can use the gear limiter when i hit it left or right nothing happens i took it apart cleaned contacts reset battery but it still wont do it any suggestions? I dont want to replace the shift Module if it is not the issue.

On a side note When i make a sharp right or left turn i get a grinding noise in the front like the tires rub but they dont what could it be?

I know the trans temp warning comes up a lot as the battery is getting weak, so maybe have it tested. As for the front end grinding it may be one or both wheel bearings starting to go.

tell us the code maybe someone can pull up the troubletree - eliminate the guessing...

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.

The light does NOT come on for all codes.
with your scanner look at Pending codes, also check code History.

Could be your CV axles. Noise on right turn usually means left CV and noise on left turn usually means right CV axle.

What transmission do you have?

Take a look at post #24 -- https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/0...30/index2.html
