old guy late to party

hello guys and girls i'm a new owner who lives in Oregon of an old 1995 jeep wrangler and i must say the guy who sold me the jeep got one over on me. After a few weeks of driving my 4000$ 1995 jeep wrangler 2.5 i have replaced all tie rods and shocks water pump exhaust cat back so now i can hear the engine and i noticed that it had some bad timing chain slap so i changed it out and did an oil change. The oil that came out was fin at first then sludge. with new filter and 10 w30 i stared the jeep sounded OK for a few days the lots of lifter noise and what may be rod noise. so in short i need an engine but cant afford a remain and don't trust a used on but cant have the jeep sitting in my apartments carport for more then a 2 to 3 days so i was thanking get a core and build it over time but cant fine one under 500$ so i'm asking if anyone has a good core for 200$ or under that is good to be rebuilt with out any major machine work

Sorry for the bad luck on the motor..sounds like a good plan with the core rebuild as long as you have another ride in the meantime.
