Off Road Trailers

I searched trailers and found a decent thread or 2, but let's see what people's off road trailers are like. Post up pictures of ones you bought or ones you built. The more info and pictures the better. I need more ideas for building mine.

I found this guy's online and it is the basis for what I want to do.

Off Road Trailer Build

The more suggestions and ideas for improvements, the better.

Not mine, but I'll own one of these in five years or so, hopefully.

Those trailers are sick, but so much money. By building one I am hoping to save a ton, but they won't be as tricked out and cherry as that one. I need to figure out how big I want to make it, so if anyone has dimensions of theirs, all the better.

This Jeep Trailer is Binksi 's on here. It's my favorite for several reasons.

Tedder19, thanks a bunch. I got a few more ideas for my build from your posts.

I have a TJ rear gate that I think I'd like to incorporate into my trailer build so using rear TJ lights Like the red one could be cool. That snap cover on the green one would be really sweet and looks so clean and finished. I wonder if they make a weatherproof stretch material that I could make a cover out of. That way if the contents of the trailer are higher than the top of the trailer, the cover could stretch to fit over the stuff still and protect it from rain or snow. The lighter the better in my book so anywhere I can cut weight, I want to. I don't want it to be to tall either, so my wife who is 5'2" can still get stuff out of it without having to get a step stool. I think I'd like the front to hold an extra fuel can, and maybe a propane tank too. Either the tank or a tool box, but the back of my jeep has a custom tool box already. That black one by bear trailer sports is a beauty. I found this build sheet of sorts about their off road trailers:

Brakes are another thing I wonder about. I'm not sure of NV's state laws on it, but are you other guys with these small trailers, running brakes on them?

Anyone else got any pics of their trailer or someone they know?

My buddy sent me a link to this axle assembly too. Seems like a dang good price for a #3500 axle.
Reliable Axle Kit — 3500-Lb. Capacity | Axle Kits | Northern Tool + Equipment

They have a #2000 axle assembly for even less and they both come in my same jeep bolt pattern of 5x4.5.

Tractor Supply has axles also, last time I checked most were 5 on 4.5. Might want to drop by there and check prices. Every buck helps.

We don't have tractor supply co. or northern tool out here, at least not that I know of. I posted some question on my local 4x4 site and I've had offers already to sell me an axle and a tub.

I know there are other guys out there who have trailers. Post up!

OP, I always thought these where nifty but I didn't care enough to build Now I think I'm gunna!

I have an old trailer in the back yard that has some surface rust on the axles and the wood is rotting, but I think I'm gunna strip all the wood off/ re finish the axles, and turn it into something like this. Thanks OP! You've got me all excited now

Only one problem.. I have a 1 car garage and no welder or welding experience... hmmm...

I'm dedicated to this now. I'm going to do it.

I'll start a build thread tomorrow when I get the trailer out and take a gander at it.

Only thing is I can't decide which route to take. Should I get a truck bed/ cover? Should I build one like the one Tedder posted? Or should I try to match it to my TJ some how?

Decisions decisions...
