I'm now a member
Well I can proudly say that I am now a member of the LJ club. I just picked up my Rubicon Unlimited Sahara limited edition this weekend. I had to drive 1500 miles to get it. But I've got it home now. Here are a couple of quick pictures I took last night. I'll try to get some more soon.

Oh, yeah, back on page 3 the question was asked where did "LJ" come from. It's just an abbreviation of the informal nickname Long Jeep purposely similar to the Jeep model designations and it just caught on. It's official designation is TJ-long wheelbase. Please correct me if I'm wrong. That's word of mouth info from the local dealer, but they pretty much suck.

Thank you, its got some minor issues that I need to fix. (cruise doesn't work, fan switch doesn't work, weather stripping on top isn't right, tires are terribly cupped and out of balance, gas mileage is worse than my other jeep was) They were really starting to bother me, but I think as soon as I get them fixed I will really like it.
I was really hoping to find a limited edition Sahara and I did. I had to fly/drive 1500miles to get it, but I think it will be worth it once I take car of a couple little annoyances. I also will have to add a slider/step for the wife and kids and I need to put on a reciever hitch or bumper. Then I think I will really love it. After having my previous Jeep for 6 years, this one doesn't really feel like mine yet. But I'm sure in time I will love this Jeep even more than my other one. Its too bad we sometimes have to sell the Jeeps we love to buy a new one. I really wish I could have both Jeeps. Oh well, you know what they say, you never forget your first Jeep. Or at least they should say it.

it's the wife's.... but I get to drive it for a yr while she's deployed

Which gives me time to SAS my exploder and get this one lifted. Thinking of a skyjacker 4in kit.... any opinions?
