15x10 rims on 33x10.50 BFG tires?

Hey people,

I just got a set of 33x10.50 BF Goodrich tires. I have bad crowning problems at 30 psi. Only 5 inches of tread is hitting the road. I have the stock 7 inch rims. Should I get 15x10's or 15x8's to solve this problem?

Thanks for any help you can give me.... post pics too if possible!

you should not be having problems with a 15x7 rim. lower the air pressure a few pounds

Completely stock, and keeping it that way...

Contrary to popular belief, wheel width does not affect contact pattern. It just changes the width of the tire. Play with a tire not mounted on a rim and see what changing rim width would do for contact pattern - nothing.

I used to have 33x10.50 BFG ATs and mine also were crowned more than I thought they should be and I had 8" wheels.

Do a search for chalk test to determine proper pressure for your individual needs. I am running 27 psi in my 33x10.5's

Mine do the same thing, don't worry about it.

Alright! Thanks for the info. I know I want to get rims so I'll go with the 15x8's. You guys are great! All the tire places were no help at all.

Rob97tj, I really like how your tires stick out just a little past the flares. How much backspacing do you have on those rims?
