1972 Jeep J2000 or is it??

Just bought a 72 Jeep J2000. Apparently when I go to order parts the J2000 doesn't show up on the auto parts store computer or even online, only one that shows up is a J2500 but not a J2000. The badging on the truck says J2000. Can someone shed some light on this issue? Thanks

Could be a late registration as the trucks were changing and old tin is hard to shift. 1971 120 inch wheelbase was a J2000, in 1972 it was a J2500.

At the same time they moved to AMC engines in 1972. If yours is an earlier engine, and it is original, it is probably a 1971 model.

Yeah it has an AMC 360.But still even as a 71 J2000, it doesn't pop up as a Jeep model made in 71 or 72??

Just went onto Autozone online and plugged in '72 Jeep and it gives the option of "J-pickup".

I would rather have a tool I don't need, than need a tool I don't have.

It does but certain parts are specific to the J2000. When they dig deeper, only vehicle that pops up the 2500. I'm pretty sure the 2000 and 2500 are one in the same.

The only differences are GVWR related. Jeep gave every one of the different GVWR rated models the J2000 badging.
