1987 Comanche Problems

Hey Everyone

I have a 1987 Jeep Comanche 4.0L that is giving me a headache and I can't get it running again. My little brother replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and since then it will not run. It has good fuel pressure, good spark, and cranks over nicely but it doesnt even try to run. I desprately need help where as this vehicle has to be on the road in 2 weeks.

Has anyone had this happen to them??

Thanks for any information!

Good fuel pressure, good spark, turns over, and fireing order is correct. And it doesn't even try to start to run on it's own power?

Odd...timing??

Could the parts store have sold you the wrong cap/button?

I have a 88 I4 4x4 cheif. It was giving me simular problems. The previous owner had the CPS sensor replaced. so that was the last thing i checked after changing TPS,plugs ,coil, ect . I finaly used 3 cans of brake cleaner on the CPS (crank shaft position sensor) then I used about 5 miniuts of air just to blow it off good. it seemed to do some good.

He said he has spark, so that would rule out the cps.

Well, something doesn't add up here then. If it has good spark, and good fuel, then all that is left is air and compression. Have you run a compression test? Did you break a timing chain on it? Cranking over nicely, like fast and easy? Good sign of no compression. Are the injectors energized? Have you check all the fuses?
